About the Event
This year's programme is appropriately titled ‘Crown the Year’
Once again, St Mark’s Church, Peaslake will be sumptuously festooned with holly and ivy, and beautifully candlelit, for a special royal-themed Christmas concert.
Alongside music by Handel, Purcell, Bach and Vivaldi, we will feature music attributed to Henry the Eighth, Anne Boleyn and Princess Anna Amalia of Prussia, as well as folk dances and carols.
Virtuoso recorder player, Olwen Foulkes, will make her first appearance at a Peaslake Concert by Candlelight, joining international musicians Philippa Hyde, soprano, Yat-Soon Yeo, harpsichord, and Jennifer Janse, baroque cello.
Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30 start. Tickets include Prosecco and canapes.
This is a fundraising event for Peaslake Free School and Nursery.
