It has been a busy and joyful month at Peaslake Free School, full of creativity, curiosity, and community spirit.
In Pine Class, the children have been bringing in their very own ‘special boxes’ – each containing five meaningful items from home. These treasures sparked thoughtful conversations as the children took turns sharing their boxes with the class. The project culminated in a special showcase in the school hall, where the older children were invited to explore the displays and ask questions. It was heartening to see the genuine interest and respect shown by the older pupils as they listened so carefully to the younger ones. A wonderful example of how learning and empathy go hand in hand.

The children have also been working hard to make our playground a more beautiful space. They have been busy planting flowers, watering the beds, and taking great care of our trees and plants. It has been lovely to see their pride in making the school grounds bloom.
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our recent fundraising event, Peaslake Open Gardens. It was a beautiful day with seven stunning gardens open for visitors to enjoy. Our sincere thanks go to the garden owners for their generosity. The school playground served as a lively base for the day, with live music, delicious cream teas, a BBQ, and plenty of fun children’s activities. The atmosphere was full of warmth and community spirit.
We are already looking forward to next year’s event, which will be based at the village hall – we hope to see you there!
