From singing harvest songs to exploring the senses, our children have been busy learning and having fun in a variety of ways. Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve been up to:
Harvest Celebrations at St Mark’s Church
Our Harvest celebrations this month took us to St Mark’s Church, where the children delighted in singing songs and telling stories about the harvest season. Their favourite tune was “I’m a Clever Tractor,” and they loved performing for their friends and families. It was a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together and reflect on the season of giving.

Cooking Up a Storm in Reception
In Reception, our young pupils have been honing some very important life skills – knife safety! They’ve been busy practicing their cutting skills with playdough, learning how to safely slice and chop. They then put those skills to the test when they worked together to chop and slice roasted pumpkin, onion, and carrot to make a delicious homemade soup. The children were thrilled to use the blender and, of course, taste their creation! While some thought the soup was delicious, others weren’t so sure – but that’s all part of the fun in trying new things!

Spreading Smiles for #HelloYellow
On World Mental Health Day, we wore bright yellow to show our support for mental health awareness. The children embraced the spirit of the day, and we raised money for the amazing charity Young Minds.
Nature Exploration and Creativity
This month, our children also enjoyed a scavenger hunt, collecting natural items like acorns and colourful autumn leaves. They explored the outdoors, discovering the beauty of the season, and then used their findings to create beautiful pictures. It’s always wonderful to see our little ones so engaged with nature and their own creative ideas.
Oak Class
Oak Class has been exploring the senses in a hands-on way, focusing on sight and smell. The children had great fun discovering how different things look and smell, with plenty of opportunities for practical exploration. In history, they’ve been learning about holidays in the past and comparing them with holidays today.
From singing at church to exploring the outdoors and cooking in the classroom, we’ve been busy making learning fun and meaningful.
We look forward to sharing more updates as we head into November!
